Open June 15th to Labor Day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m, Eagle Island State Historic Site receives only 6,000 visitors each season.  The island is only accessible by boat, and is a National Historic Landmark, being the home of Admiral Robert Peary, who explored the North Pole.
